This case study outlines the migration of a client's mission-critical application from physical servers to AWS, addressing scalability, redundancy, and high availability issues. The client needed a rapid migration due to the end-of-life status of their physical platform and lacked in-house expertise for cloud migrations.

The migration strategy was methodical, involving analysis, design & build, pilot, migration, management, and modernization. A secure, scalable, and cost-conscious AWS platform was designed, and a comprehensive migration plan was executed with minimal downtime.

Post-migration, the client’s cloud environment was managed to ensure smooth operations, with performance monitoring, resource optimization, and best practices implementation for cost reduction and reliability.

The partnership resulted in a robust platform with Absolute Uptime™, balancing cost and performance, and providing the client with ongoing advice, support, and management, enabling them to focus on business growth.

Key AWS products used included global accelerator, multiple availability zones, application load balancers, autoscaling EC2 web servers, EFS, multi-zoned MySQL RDS instances, Elasticache, AWS backup, S3 storage, dedicated bastion host, NAT gateways, SES, and Cloudwatch dashboards and alarms.

The collaboration between the client’s development team and the service provider’s engineers was crucial for the successful migration, with intensive work during the pilot, migration, and go-live phases. The client expressed appreciation for the responsiveness and expertise provided throughout the project.
